Yesterday I finally tackled the crawlspace vent repair that's been bugging me for months. The old galvanized grating had rusted through near the foundation sill, letting in damp air and the occasional mouse. I cut out the damaged section, fitted a new heavy-duty PVC vent cover with proper insect screening, and sealed the edges with exterior-grade silicone. The tight quarters made it tricky, but the airflow feels much better now, and that musty smell in the spare room is already fading.
