After a big storm knocked a tree through my roof last night, I felt totally lost trying to deal with the insurance paperwork. I'm just looking for someone who can help me figure out what to document and how to talk to the adjuster without getting taken advantage of. A neighbor mentioned hiring a public adjuster, but I'm not sure if that's worth it or if there are simpler steps I can take first.
